Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
Your BAH will be used in one of two ways. You can either rent on base or you can live off base. If you live off base, you can either rent or buy. Click Here for current BAH rates.
On Base Housing ( Rent On-Base )
You can contact the housing office at 580-213-7259. Please keep in mind that there is a process involved in renting on Base housing to include wait times.
Off Base Single Family Rentals-You can choose to rent off base if you wish. Check our database for available single-family homes.

Vance Air Force Base is home to the 71st Flying Training Wing whose responsibilities include training for all branches of the Armed Forces. The wing trains world-class pilots for worldwide combat. Vance trains the majority of undergraduate pilots. If arriving by plane, the Woodring Airport Shuttle will bring military personnel directly to the base for $5.00. If arriving by car, the main gate is accessible off of Highway 81 at Pride Drive. Base lodging is located in Building 714. Upon arrival at the base, military personnel are encouraged to contact the Vance Air Force Base housing office for interim housing information including on- and off-post housing. The Housing Referral Office will help personnel eligible for BAH allowances to find homes for rent or sale that will be covered by the allowance amount. BAH allowances are based on rank. Advanced housing applications can be completed prior to arrival by filling out a DD Form 1746 which will then make you eligible for any waiting list that may be in effect.
Temporary lodging is provided by the Vance Cherokee Lodge and reservations are accepted for up to 30 days extended stays. The lodge is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be reached at 714-213-7358. Vance Air Force Base is part of the Enid School district which offers 11 elementary schools, 3 junior high schools, and 1 high school. For students who live over 2 miles from their assigned school. The Housing Referral Office has a map showing applicable school boundaries. Vance Air Force Base has a child development center that provides all day care Monday through Friday. The youth center provides special summer and holiday camps for children from first grade through high school age.
